Blake Shelton's showbiz stock just went up. The country star and reality TV coach has been tapped to host 'Saturday Night Live.'

Shelton will host the Jan. 24 episode of the iconic sketch comedy program's 40th season. He will also serve as the musical guest that night. The episode will mark his 'SNL' debut.

The singer recently released 'Bringing Back the Sunshine,' his eighth studio album. The album's first single, 'Neon Light,' reached No. 1 in the US Country Airplay chart. The second single, 'Lonely Tonight,' is a duet with Ashley Monroe from Pistol Annies.

Shelton also just brought home another win on 'The Voice,' coaching Craig Wayne Boyd to victory as part of Team Blake this season.
