Blake Shelton isn't the only talented writer in his family. The singer's mother, Dorothy Shackleford, just released her very first novel, 'Time for Me to Come Home.'

The novel is fictional, but based on holiday memories the Grammy-nominated singer shares with mommy dearest. The story also sounds oddly familiar.

It's about a 35-year-old country singer from Oklahoma who realizes that he wants to be home for Christmas when he performs a sold out show in Madison Square Garden. Plenty of challenges stand in the singer's way as he tries to make his way home for the holidays.

Shelton used his Twitter account to help promote his mother's book and show fans how proud he is of her writing venture. "So cool to be holding a book that my mom wrote!!" he tweeted, along with the book cover.

This isn't Shackleford's first time making use of her writing skills. She's written several songs throughout the years, one of which is a song the novel was based on. 'Time for Me to Come Home,' the song, appears on Shelton's Christmas album, 'Cheers, It's Christmas.'

Shackleford's novel is available for purchase on Amazon.
