UPDATE: TV personality, Gia Allemand passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at the age of 29. It has been confirmed that Allemand's death was caused by strangulation due to self-inflicted hanging. She was found in her home by her boyfriend, Ryan Anderson and rushed to the hospital. She was taken off life support yesterday after doctors confirmed a lack of oxygen to the brain and organ failure left no hope for recovery.

Her friends and family have reported that they are shocked by her suicide. There was no indication that she was recently depressed. In her last Twitter post on Sunday, she quoted Proverbs 21:3: “Doing what is right and fair pleases The Lord more than an offering.”
