Every year as a part of the CMA Music Fest, a celebrity softball challenge takes place to benefit City Of Hope, which funds cancer research.  This year's game featured stars like Carrie Underwood, Vince Gill, Scotty McCreery, Brantley Gilbert, Lauren Alaina, David Nail, LoCash Cowboys, members of the Tennessee Titans and more.

Baby Boy Brian and myself were guests to the game thanks to new artist, Rachel Holder, who had a funny moment sliding head-first back to first base, while Carrie chased her.  Holder's slide was less than graceful, and even though she was safe, Underwood had a good laugh at her expense.

Lauren Alaina seemed to be the target of some pranks as Jared Cook and Michael Griffin of the Titans dumped a big cooler of water over her head, causing a chase scene around the stadium.  Titans fans like me held our breath, hoping neither player came out with injuries due to the horseplay.  Both Cook and Griffin came out injury free.

I cannot say the same for David Nail.  He made spectacular catches playing left-center all day, but it was a line-drive from Brantley Gilbert, that caused Nail to make a diving catch, and also caused a small fracture of his right hand.

In the end, the game was a 15-15 tie, but it was all for a great cause.
