I have been at WKDQ for 13 years and have loved every minute of it. My career started in Southern California and I arrived in Evansville in 1994. I have three children that keep me very busy and the rare opportunity to go out and not have a six foot mouse serving your table is a rare and welcome treat. I love motorcycles and classic country and even host the WKDQ Country Classics show every Saturday from 6-10am. If I can I can ever play a song for you, let me know at wkdq.com.

Over the weekend, I had to get cash from my bank's ATM and there was a man in front of me who was very irritated by the language question, English or Spanish. He began telling me how ridiculous he thought it was to have to 'choose' English in this country. There has been talk over the years about a 'universal language' for everyone in all countries or at least an 'official' language here in the U.

Cambodian Children Try To Learn How To Say ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’ [Video]
Every language has words that are very hard to say. We have plenty right here at home in America. My wife Lisa is completely unable to say the word 'worcestershire' as in Worcestershire Sauce. It is absolutely hilarious to listen to her try and say it when we are shopping at Schnuck's. Children especially have trouble with a lot of different words and they can be so cute trying to say them.

According to a recent article in the Courier Press, there is a big debate about who ultimately is responsible for maintaining tombstones in some of our cemeteries like Locust Hill and Oak Hill. Memorial Day is over, but the actions of a 9-year-old boy from Kingston, Mass. reminds us all about the meaning of Memorial Day. Brendan Haas is in many respects a typical 9-year-old, except for what he gave the family of a soldier killed in Afghanistan, a complete Disney World trip including airfare, hotel, park access and $900 worth of Disney certificates.

We live in challenging economic times and trying to make ends meet is very difficult for a lot of us right now. The Mesker Park Zoo and Botanic Garden is one of the most family-friendly destinations in the Evansville area and a great bargain too especially if you are a Zoo member which we are. My kids love strolling around the Zoo and they especially enjoy 'Boo At the Zoo' which is the perfect Halloween warm-up. Another great event that is just for the grown-ups is the Zoo Brew which is set for June 9th fro
