We always try to introduce you to new music on 99.5 WKDQ, but we can’t put everybody on air. So, I decided to start spotlighting some of my favorite artist just for you! New artists, old artists, in between artists, I’ve got them all!

With Florida Georgia Line coming in February, the Chris Lane Band is one to watch! This band consists of Chris Lane (lead vocals, guitar), twin brother Cory Lane (drums), Dean Kreseski (lead guitar), Joseph Pope (lead guitar), and Tom Sale (bass). They formed in Kernersville, NC playing, like most up and coming artists, restaurant and small club gigs. To me, that is one of the best ways to make connections with your fans, and this band has had no problem finding that out.

“The overwhelming crowd support has been the best memory of our local shows. We can play anywhere locally, back-to-back nights and have a packed house… It’s a great feeling knowing you took nothing but small set-up restaurant gigs, to playing some of the same stages you saw your idols perform on growing up”.

Chris is another artists who has no problem connecting to his fans through social media sites. You can “follow” him on Twitter and “like” him on Facebook and get updates just like this:

Aside from now opening for Florida Georgia Line, these guys have also been able to go out on tour and open up for Lee Brice! Before the announcement for the “Here’s to the Good Times” tour, I had never heard of the Chris Lane Band. Now I’m starting to wonder why! Every single member credits a different musical influence, which probably gives them the different sound they have, but some of them include Keith Urban, Eric Church, and Jason Aldean.

What I thought was pretty cool about Chris and Cory was that they were just normal college students playing baseball at the University of North Carolina Charlotte, before they took off on the ride of their lives. So wait, they’re musicians AND athletes?! They sound perfect! You can check out their music on iTunes and download their full album, and that way you’ll be prepared to sing right along at the Ford Center on February 14, 2014!!

Until then, you can check out one of their videos below!
