The term "pumpkin spice latte" has become so popular, society has turned it into an acronym complete with hashtag. Yeah, nothing says (or tastes like) fall quite like the old pumpkin spice.

Now, I don't know about you but I don't really have the time or the money to treat myself to a store bought PSL from September through December. And truth be told, I don't like them very much... (GASP!!) But, there is another hot fall beverage that I love. I can make it at home. It's cheap, and delicious.

First off, I brew two cups of dark blend coffee. I love Starbucks Verona blend but if you are short on cash, the Dollar General Clover Valley Dark blend is really delicious - especially for $3.50 a can! I brew it in my Keurig using my reusable K-cup.

Then I add in three to five tablespoons of hazelnut coffee creamer. I prefer Nestle original hazelnut Coffee-Mate. Bonus, you can get fat free or sugar free. Make sure you shake the bottle really well and you'll get a little froth on top.

Then I add in about 1/2 tsp of pumpkin pie spice and stir well. Now, you might get picky and put the spice in the cup before brewing the coffee. So, technically there's no pumpkin flavor but there IS the famously delicious PUMPKIN SPICE - cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg.

So, you are looking at a little more than 100 calories for my fall concoction as opposed to the Starbucks PSL that starts at 260 calories.
