The end of summer traditionally means a decline in blood donations. The American Red Cross will be hosting the 'Labor of Love' blood drive this Monday, September 17th from 10am-6pm at the Red Cross facility on Stockwell Road at the Lloyd Expressway.

The 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on Tuesday was a big reminder about the importance of blood donation. "Donating blood is an easy way to help others and only takes about an hour of your time," says Linda Voss, River Valley Blood Services Region CEO. All blood types are needed, especially type O negative, O positive, A negative and B negative.

You can schedule your appointment for Monday's blood drive right now by calling 1-800-RED CROSS or 1-800-733-2767. All donors will receive a complimentary meal from Olive Garden.
